What is a stock screener?

A stock screener filters thousands of listed companies down to the few that match the numbers you choose - for example "sales growing at least 10 % a year" or "a dividend yield between 2 % and 7 %". It shows you where to start looking. It does not tell you what to buy.

On Ticker Picker you choose the columns you want to see, sort by the one that matters most to you, and filter by sector and country. Click any company to open its full page with financial statements, key ratios, valuation and news.

Investor profiles

Not sure which filters to use? Start from a profile

Each profile opens the screener with a set of filters that describes one type of company. Look at what comes up, then adjust the filters yourself.

Companies that are growing fast

  • EPS growth at least 10 %

  • Revenue growth at least 20 %
  • Dividend yield 1 % or lower (or no dividend)
  • Beta 1.3 or higher

Where our data comes from

Financial statements come from the companies' official filings (for US companies: SEC EDGAR). Share prices come from market data providers and are updated daily. Company descriptions and the bias and factuality ratings of news articles are partly produced with AI and checked automatically, not by hand.

Data can be delayed, incomplete or wrong. Numbers that look far outside the normal range are marked with a flag so you know to check them. Always confirm important figures in the company's own reports.

This content is not investment advice. Ticker Picker shows data and explains it; it does not recommend buying or selling anything.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is Ticker Picker free?

Yes. The screener, the stock pages and the encyclopedia are free to use. Free use shows ads and has a daily limit; paid plans show more rows and more history, and have no ads.

Is this investment advice?

No. Ticker Picker shows data and explains what it means. It does not recommend any stock, and the investor profiles are learning examples, not recommendations. Do your own research and consider asking a qualified adviser.

How do I find good stocks as a beginner?

Start by learning what the main numbers mean, then use a ready-made profile in the screener to get a short list, and read each company's page: what it does, how its sales, profit, cash flow and debt have developed, and what the news says. A screener is the start of your research, not the end.

Where does the data come from?

Financial statements come from official company filings (SEC EDGAR for US companies); prices come from market data providers. Some descriptions and news ratings are produced with AI. Data can be wrong, so check important numbers.

Do I need an account?

No. You can use the screener and the stock pages as a guest after accepting the terms of service once. An account lets you keep a plan and see more data.
